Chargers
The chargers or regulators as some call them, will take the DC power from your panels and apply this power to your battery bank. the principal job of the charger is to ensure your batteries are delivered power at a rate they can accommodate so the batteries charge in a proper fashion. If the batteries are charged too fast, there is the risk of irreversible damage and the capacity of your system will greatly diminish.

Batteries
Your batteries will store any additional charge so you can still have power when the sun is not shining on your solar array. The size of your battery bank will depend on when you use the bulk of your power and how much power you need during this period of time.

Inverters
The inverter is a device to change the DC (Direct Current) from your solar panels or battery bank into the typical AC (Alternating Current) that our appliances are designed for. Ensure your inverter is capable of delivering the peak amount of AC power you need, failure to proportion the inverter large enough could cause “Brown-out” to your appliances and damage them beyond repair. If you can afford it you should look to over-size your inverter by some 30%, then you will not have to juggle which appliance is on when!
